Since your aim is to be a successful investor, we are the right people for you. We give valuable advice on investments by explaining the structure of the Canadian stock market. Our advice on how to invest is based on several investment strategies, because the increasing volatility of global capital markets has made pure value investing difficult. Nevertheless, we are still believers in value investing and the major role models for us are Warren Buffet and Charles Munger with their holding company Berkshire Hathaway. We have studied their value investments with enthusiasm and read their letters to the Berkshire Hathaway shareholders.

Value investing is the search for the intrinsic value of companies. This particular value often differs from a company’s market capitalization, which is the price that is paid for a certain company at the moment. With our strong analytical skills and investment strategies, we are able to generate positive returns for our customers in the long run.

A very interesting part from Warren Buffet’s February 2008 letter to Berkshire Hathaway Inc. shareholders follows, where he describes his investment style on page 6:

“Charlie and I look for companies that have:

1. a business we understand
2. favorable long-term economics
3. able and trustworthy management
4. a sensible price tag

We like to buy the whole business or, if management is our partner, at least 80%. When control-type purchases of quality are not available, we will buy small portions of great businesses by way of stock market purchases. It’s better to have a part interest in the Hope Diamond than to own all of a rhinestone. A truly great business must have an enduring “moat” that protects excellent returns on invested capital.”

We support Warren Buffet’s investment principles. Our business philosophy is to assist our clients with the search for suitable investments according to their needs. We believe that our clients should understand fully what they invest in. We do not encourage investments in complicated certificate structures or derivatives.
